SRT is proud to present a series of 9 new and original monologues created by 9 local writers on the optimistic, the bittersweet, and the touching side of life in the shadow of the coronavirus. Based around the theme “Silver Linings” each short 4-6 minute monologue looks at the optimistic, the humorous, the bittersweet, and the touching side of life under Covid-19, and the silver linings that we may find in these unusual and often frightening times. Grace Lee-Khoo (Access Path Productions)
Grace Lee Khoo is the Founder and Creative Development Director of Access Path Productions, Singapore’s first disability-led theatre company. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Applied Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, graduated with Honors from the National University of Singapore’s Theatre Studies BA program and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education.
In 2017, Grace was International Artist-in-residence at Graeae Theatre Company (London) – UK’s flagship disability-led inclusive theatre company. In 2019, she was appointed a Singapore International Foundation Fellow.
A director, performer, dramaturg, researcher, educator and producer who works internationally, she is currently an Adjunct Lecturer In Applied Theatre at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Most recent directorial credits include Self Portrait as part of Light to Night 2020, Mak Mak Menari for M1 Fringe Festival and Silence Bubble by SRT and Shan You.

Samantha Scott-Blackhall
Samantha has worked full-time professionally in Singapore’s theatre Industry for the last 19 years. In her various roles as Freelance Theatre Director, Artistic Director and Educator, she has achieved critical acclaim. Samantha is a multidimensional artist, making strides in not only theatre, but also entrepreneurship and film. She founded Blank Space Theatre in 2007 which received exemplary critical and audience reviews from productions such as Das Experiment: Black Box, Freud’s Last Session and Red. In 2007, she made her film debut with the short film Turning Ten, which was one of five winning short films from the Asia Pacific region. Samantha is also a theatre educator and has had the opportunity to lecture budding talent in tertiary institutes: LASALLE College of the Arts, SOTA (School of the Arts) and NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts). Her strength in storytelling and extensive experience working with actors makes her a versatile player in this ever-growing, creatively charged market. On top of freelancing as a Theatre Director, in 2018 Samantha took up the role of Programme Director at Gateway Arts/Theatre. An Arts company committed to nurturing children and youth through the Performing Arts.
Cherilyn Woo
Cherilyn is a freelance Theatre Director and Writer from Singapore. She is currently the Associate Director at Nine Years Theatre (NYT) .
