Revolution - The Theatre Ball by Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) was hailed, once again, as the party of the year! With an amazing view of Singapore’s city skyline as a backdrop, guests came dressed in their revolutionary best, all in the name of charity. Cuban, Cultural, French and the MeToo revolutions to name a few were all represented.
With a digital revolution drinks bar, an eight-foot high backdrop commemorating SRT’s 25th anniversary, ceiling projections of different revolutions, and customized mouth-watering dessert spread served on the adjoining outdoor terrace, Olga Iserlis out-did herself once again by transforming a unique space, generously sponsored by Marina Bay Sands, into a stunning dining and party venue.
SRT’s Director Gaurav Kripalani and Managing Director Charlotte Nors kicked off the evening by sharing how SRT has revolutionised the arts scene in Singapore and how theatre can revolutionise the way stories are told. Key highlights of the ball included the evening’s music entertainment specially flown in for the event, and dinner featuring selected courses from Osteria Mozza.
Specially curated once-in-a-lifetime auction experiences sponsored by supporters like Lamborghini, Four Seasons in London, The Plaza in New York, YTL Hotels and Tiffany & Co. helped ensure that SRT met its fundraising goal for the evening. As a non-profit charity, the annual Theatre Ball is vital to supporting SRT’s productions and programmes for the year.
This year's Theatre Ball would not have been possible without the help of the Organising Committee comprising Olga Iserlis, Dick Lee, Gaurav Kripalani, Stuart McLelland, Shareen Khattar-Harrison and Bina Rampuria, as well as main sponsor, Marina Bay Sands.
