DEEP DOWN INSIDE,
WE ARE BUT SAVAGES, ALL OF US.
Nobel Prize Winner William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, one of the most celebrated novels of modern times will be vividly brought to life by SRT’s The Young Co.
A plane crashes on a deserted island and the only survivors - a group of school boys, assemble on the beach and wait to be rescued. By day they inhabit a land of sand, sun and sea, but at night their dreams are haunted by the image of a terrifying beast. As the boys’ delicate sense of order fades and they realise no one is coming to their rescue, their childish fears are transformed into something more primitive and their behaviour starts to take on a murderous, savage significance.
Powerful, devastating and primal, this stage adaptation by Nigel Williams is an uncompromising study of the darkest corners of human nature in what will be a confronting experience for the audience. The production will assault all our senses: sand will be stomped, blood spilled, wind blown, and fire unleashed.
Do you dare join the tribe?
