Creative Captioned (CC): Creative Captioned (CC) performances are designed to cater to patrons who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing. CC performances provide text captions that transcribe all auditory elements, including speech, music, and sound cues. Unlike open captions, CC allows audiences to toggle captions on or off. In this CC performance, there will be text projected directly on patrons’ phones via a slideshow, accessed via a QR code.
For this CC performance of Shakespeare in the Park – Macbeth, captions will be projected directly onto patrons’ phones via a slideshow, accessible through a QR code. Trained captioners will operate the captions live to ensure accuracy, with careful consideration given to color contrast, text placement, and size for optimal readability.

Ghafir is a Malaysian actor and director last seen in Disgraced (SRT) and Accidental Death of an Activist (Wild Rice). He won Best Actor (2024 ST Life Theatre Award) for his role in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (SRT-Shakespeare in the Park).
Other credits include The Passion and the Prose (SIFA 2024); HOTEL, An Inspector Calls, Merdeka (Wild Rice); Three Years in the Life and Death of Land, Acting Mad, Civilised (TNS); Kingdoms Apart (Esplanade); Lifespan of a Fact, Julius Caesar, Guards at the Taj (SRT); Temple, Medea (Cake Theatrical); Gold Rain and Hailstones (Instant Café Theatre).
Directing credits: Fault Lines (Protagonist Studio - Best Director, Cameronian Arts Awards 2023); The Language Archive (PH7 Productions); OlaBola The Musical (Enfiniti); Ombak! (Rhythm in Bronze); and Cinta Sang Arnab (Kakiseni Arts Festival).
Ghafir holds an MFA in Acting (Asolo Conservatory/FSU), and a BA in Theatre Performance (Western Michigan University).

Julie trained as an actor at The Victorian College of the Arts Drama School in Melbourne, Australia. With 22 years of experience as a stage and TV actress, her stage credits include playing Juliet in Romeo and Juliet by Wild Rice; as well as Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cassius in Julius Caesar, Portia in The Merchant of Venice, Miranda in The Tempest, Hero in Much Ado About Nothing and Bianca in Othello in Singapore Repertory Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Park series.
For original Singaporean theatre, Julie performed in Hotel by Wild Rice; The Fourth Trimester, Normal, The Good The Bad and The Sholay and The Way We Go by Checkpoint Theatre and Mosaic by Take Off Productions.
She also co-directed, wrote and adapted the one woman Classic Christmas Stories for SRT’s The Little Company.
As a teaching artist, she is an adjunct lecturer Lasalle and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts teaching Shakespeare for Actors.
In the corporate world, she facilitates workshops for individuals and groups to enhance their presence, presentation and communication skills.
Julie works as an event host and a professional voiceover artist who runs her own home studio. Her voice is used for ad campaigns internationally. Companies that use her voice include Visa, Samsung, SK-II, Olay and Singapore Tourism Board. She has worked as a part-time radio DJ on Class95.
