Jo’s unnecessarily eventful life includes quitting lawyering the day after she was called to the bar, training at a clown school (The Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Paris under a National Arts Council Residency), and then acting in films and plays that have been seen in cities from New York to Busan, most notably as the main lead in internationally feted movie, Tiong Bahru Social Club (2020). She is also a Dim Sum Dolly (the tall one). Jo is the current writer-in-residence at Centre 42, after she started writing plays in 2016, since then having had several works staged including Forked (The Finger Players, 2019; Summerhall Edinburgh, 2024), King (T:>works, 2020 and 2023) - which scored her the Best Original Script and Best Actress titles in the ST Life Theatre Awards 2022, Session Zero (Checkpoint Theatre, 2021 and 2023) and Happy Place (Gateway Theatre, 2023).  She also co-created with her husband Dungeons and Distractions, the hit live Dungeons and Dragons gameplay experience with the audience controlling actual actors with inflatable dice and interactive choices to enact various outcomes including performing combat stunts. 

Jo Tan is also the playwright for Por Por’s Big Fat Surprise Wedding. 

Chieng Mun is a well-known TV, Film, and stage actress, starring in two long running and award-winning sitcoms – Under One Roof (1995-2003) and Living with Lydia (2000-2005). She is a household name in Singapore, known as Dolly to her fans.

She returned to the limelight after a hiatus, with lead roles in telemovies, (October -2015 /2nd Chance-2015), stage performances (Living Together –SIFA 2015), Peranakan Festival 2015 (Bibik Behind Bars Kena Again), and Women of Asia 2014.

In 2000, Chieng Mun was in a Hollywood produced film, Pavilion of Women and recently, in 2018, had the chance to be in the Warner Brothers film, Crazy Rich Asians. On stage, Chieng Mun had her beginnings in stand-up comedy, starting out very humbly in a pub. She has gone on to do stand-up comedy for a larger audience, and in July 2018, was in Happy Ever Laughter, a stand- up show with 12 Singaporean comedians.

Chieng Mun also gives talks on active aging (50 plus Fair 2012/2015) and is a health ambassador with the Health Promotion Board of Singapore. Chieng Mun is a radio presenter with an emphasis on classical music programmes since 1983. Known for her bright and friendly personality, she was the host of Symphony 924’s Lunch Treats till 2019, bringing a varied selection of classical favorites to the table.

Chieng Mun’s latest TV appearances were in a My Lockdown Wedding, a drama series about a couple who had to get married digitally, and a reunion of Under One Roof, to celebrate the spirit of reunion for Lunar New Year Celebrations.

Chieng Mun has in recent months gone back to school embarking on a Diploma Programme in Culinary Arts. She has a lifelong interest in feeding others as her late mother used to run an eatery in the 70’s. Now Chieng Mun is fully engaged in learning global cuisines, and even more importantly what food producers are doing for wellness and nutrition, and the future of food supplies.

The role of Por Por in SRT’s Por Por's Big Fat Surprise Wedding is a godsend to Chieng Mun at this stage in her career, as she gets to practice her craft in a celebratory setting where the two most important aspects of living – LOVE and FOOD reign supreme.

Jo started writing plays after attending Huzir Sulaiman's playwriting workshop in 2016, and since then has had several works staged including Forked (The Finger Players, 2019; M1 Fringe Festival 2017), Happy Place (Gateway Theatre, 2023), and King (T:>works, 2023 and 2020) -- the last of which scored her the Best Original Script and Best Actress titles in the ST Life Theatre Awards 2022 -- and Session Zero (Checkpoint Theatre, 2023 and 2021). She's delighted to be able to continue this year's writing/acting streak with the lovely team of Por Por's Big Fat Surprise Wedding.

Edward is a Master's graduate from the National University of Singapore's (NUS) Theatre Studies Programme with 23 years of experience as an Actor, while also working as an Events Host, Model, Voice-Over Artist, and Corporate Trainer for MNCs and public institutions. He has voiced over 800 projects on radio, TV, and online, and lectures at NUS on a contract basis. He hosted OKTO's Word Whiz or Slime Pit on TV as Dr Slime for four seasons, and played Dr Goh Keng Swee on stage in SRT and Aiwei's The LKY Musical last year. A former banker, he also regularly hosts events and public forums for financial institutions, conducts financial literacy classes for freelancers and graduating students, and wrote and hosted a finance series called #Adulting on Yahoo TV.

Ric Liu is a Singaporean singer-songwriter, actor, director, playwright, photographer, and designer.

Ric is the first Singapore Theatre practitioner to be awarded the “National Art Council & École Philippe Gaulier Residency Award” to study Theatre Performance under French Master Clown, Philippe Gaulier, in France.

Ric has been active in Singapore Theatre scene for over a decade.

Ric’s theatrical credits include: “If There’re Seasons”, “The Soldier & his Virtuous Wife”, “Liao Zhai Rocks!”, “Descendants of the Eunuch Admiral”, “The Story After Ah Q”, “Lao Jiu the Musical”, “The Lesson”, “Legends of the Southern Arch”, “BODY X - The Rehearsal”, “Four Horse Road”, “Both Sides Now - The Last Dance”, “Three Little Pigs”, “Three Billy Goats Gruff”, “The Red Riding Hood”, “The Rubbish Prince” etc.

Ric is one of the founding members of Singapore music group, “MengFM” (formerly “Dreamz FM”) and the band, “Lilac Saints”.

“Dreamz FM” is the first Singapore pop group to be invited to perform at the United Nations. Ric had sang on two Singapore’s National Day Songs, “Together” and “Stand Up For Singapore”, which are still being played in every National Day since. “Should I Stay”, a song sang by Ric (with “Dreamz FM”) reached number one in Singapore’s 98.7FM Music Chart.

Tiara is an actor, voiceover artist, writer and content creator. As a former creative at local comedy platform SGAG where she was best known for playing deadpan newscaster Constance Lee, Tiara is intrigued by the ways in which theatre and social media overlap. Recent stage credits include Fat Kids Are Harder to Kidnap (How Drama), The Wonderful World of Dissocia (Wild Rice), Quest - The White Hare (Toy Factory Productions) and guest performer at Mina Kaye: Live In Concert (Sight Lines Entertainment). She sometimes performs wacky song parodies with her band the Siao Sing Songs, and is a huge musical theatre nerd.

Tiara is a recent graduate of Young & Wild (Wild Rice’s award-winning youth ensemble led by Edith Podesta), studied Communication Studies and Drama at Nanyang Technological University, and trained in theatre at Northeastern University, Boston.

As a graduate of SRT’s Young Company, Tiara is excited to be working with SRT in a professional capacity for the first time, and hopes this will be a wedding you won’t forget!

Bridget Fernandez is a Singaporean Actor with 35 years of professional performing and teaching experience in the dramatic arts. Her first language is English and second is Malay with some knowledge of sign-language.

She has lived in the U.S.A and U.K. In the 80’s she started her career as a Stage Manager, Choreographer and Assistant to the Director at the award-winning Alameda Children’s Musical Theatre in California. One day, with barely any time for rehearsal, she filled in for a main cast member who was injured and the rest is herstory. This is the ‘passion over fear’ and ‘the show must go on’ attitude that has sustained her in the performing arts industry.

Bridget’s first job as an actor in her homeland was with Singapore’s first professional children’s theatre company established in 1985. Act 3 Theatrics was where she had a full hands-on performing arts ‘education’. Her duties as full-time staff included Acting, Writing, Directing, Teaching, helping with constructing Props & Costumes and Administrative work.

She took a long hiatus from performing to raise her children in the 90’s. When she returned to Singapore in 2002 she landed her first screen role in Lee Thean-Jeen’s The Singapore Short Story Project and was invited back to other roles in all of TSSSP series. One of which won the Asian Television Award and another was bought by a TV cable channel in the U.S.A. Her debut in television spurred off many other TV and film roles, some of which can still be found on MeWatch and Netflix. To name a few: Enbloc, Double Chin, The Girl He Never Noticed, Little Women (Korean Drama) and The Blue Mansion, a movie by Glen Goei filmed in Malaysia. Bridget has made Singapore television history by being casted in all three of Mediacorp’s longest running TV series: She played a school discipline mistress on Tanglin; On Kin she was the delightfully flawed Celia Shelley a Eurasian Tai Tai, and currently she appears on Sunny Side Up as an overbearing Peranakan Bibik.

In 2006, Bridget registered her drama education and performing arts company: For Heavens Sake. With this company she created and produced several original private theatrical events. ‘For Heavens Sake ~ The Web Series’ was her maiden YouTube show.

Bridget is a certified Business/Life Coach, ESL certified Teacher and has the Advanced Certification in Training and Assessment. She is currently writing a short film, learning Korean for fun, as well as managing a breadmaking and training home-based business. She is a brand ambassador for Virgin Active Gym and a goodwill ambassador for Singapore Cancer Society. A few of Bridget’s screen work is listed on IMDB.com. Bridget could not afford acting/film school, however, her life as a mother and daughter has been her most valuable training ground and treasured experience. She believes acting, story-telling and filmmaking is deeply rooted in humanity… by living and observing one's own life and others around us.

Chacko George Vadaketh is an actor, voice-over artist and host. He has appeared in shows on CBS, Cinemax, BBC, Channel 4, USA, TV3, Mediacorp, HBO including playing Sabo Singh on television in popular Singapore sitcom Mr. Kiasu as well as The Bold and The Beautiful, In Plain Sight, Strike Back, Princess of Mars, Keluarga Baha Don, Ghaib as well as playing lead roles on stage in Othello, The Tempest, Aladdin, Shakespeare Goes Bollywood, Camelot and more. He has narrated documentaries on History Channel, Nat Geo and hosted/moderated for ASTRO and in Los Angeles, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Bangalore. He has voiced advertising campaigns and animation characters. He trains using acting skills in the workplace for multinationals and NGOs. He was a medico-legal litigator with Shearn Delamore and chaired the Law & Ethics Committee of the Malaysian AIDS Council. He is on the boards of National Film Development Corporate of Malaysia (FINAS) and Rimau that aims to save the critically endangered Malayan Tiger. He read Law and Archaeology & Anthropology at Pembroke College, Cambridge and is a Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn. He studied acting and directing at The New School, New York and Carter Thor Studios in Los Angeles.
